Best time
February, March, September and October are the best months to travel to Suriname. This will avoid the months of heavy precipitation.

Dutch is the official language in Suriname. In addition there including Surinamese, Javanese and English spoken.

Travel documents
You must have a passport valid for at least six months upon arrival in Suriname.
For tourists, a tourist card required. You can request for 20 euros at the Consulate of Suriname in Amsterdam, in counters at Schiphol airport or on arrival at the international airport. For business travel, work, internships or stays longer than 90 days a visa required. Surinamese living in the Netherlands abolished the visa requirement.

For a visit to Suriname it is advisable to get one or more vaccinations.
